Quilt completed

At long last my grandson's first quilt is finished. It will be a great play quilt for him, wash and wear as all kid's items should be!
Stress for Jamie - teaching her how to pick the fabrics she wants - she did great!
blocks all assembled

finished back
And this little monkey boy is saying "it's about time, Grandma!"

Simple Sunday cards...

Sitting on the sofa playing with paper scraps while watching a movie, I threw some cards together. All it takes is a punch or two and a bit of ribbon.

More fabric wreaths

I finished two more wreaths for sale at Grasshopper Gallery.

This little one is about 8" across. I didn't bother putting anything on it as I just thought it wasn't necessary. Love the country colours.
8" wreath

love the quilting cottons
This wreath has much shorter fabric ties, so I wasn't as crazy about it. I knew it needed something else to give it some punch so put on the bunting - much better. This wreath is 12" across.
Love the bright turquoise with the pink

blah - needs help

That's better!

Bling for scrapbooking class

Here is my interpretation of the 2010 March Project 12 layout. The technique we're covering in this month's class is "bling" for the class - buttons, rhinestones, brads and eyelets ALL on this layout.

I thought it was a great way to show DD's pregnancy and finally use this prego print paper I bought while she was still pregnant over a year ago. Isn't it so cute - cravings, nesting, exhausted, swollen feet!

Still have to journal - there is something special about my baby having a baby!

WHO is prego?!
date and weeks prego tags

Will type journaling to put in the green box

Eggs in a Wreath

I made this wreath with half a yard of scrap fabric and three fat quarters. Nothing more satisfying than tearing strips of fabric - wrriiiiip!  I tied strips around  a wreath form nice and tight and close together. Then added the bows to cover the seam on the eggs and tied the eggs on to the wreath. HAPPY EASTER!

Mmmm for M&Ms

I made a batch of Easter cards using SU's Sweet Treat cups this weekend. I've had this box of cups for close to a year, so decided it was finally time to use them up! All you need is a 1 3/4" punch to create the opening. I didn't bother putting in sliders for these, but there are a number of tutes out there showing you how to so you're not tearing your card open to get to those yummy M&Ms. Thanks to Eryn for finding the cute bunny face for me to mimic, love it!
Up, up and away...
Added extra M&Ms by cutting small circles - not bad.
Extra M&Ms using the stamp from SU's Sweet Somethings set - better!

Easter in a jar

I need to get working hard the next two weeks to get a whole bunch of wonderful spring and Easter items in to the Grasshopper Gallery. I'm starting with Easter fun. Here is a little bit of Easter in a jar - malted eggs, a marshmallow bunny, all wrapped up in a bow. A little gift tag on each, ready for giving.

No Soliciting...

I lifted this idea somewhere along the line, and made it my own. This is the sign my front door now sports proudly made out of stick-on vinyl:

Scrapbooking Class

Taught my first scrapbooking class in mid-February using the Project 12 idea from Scrapbooks & Cards Today.  It was fun - only a couple students, but it was a great way to get my feet wet. I had the sample with half done and half to finish, and was really happy with how it turned out. I'm excited to see the girls again this coming Friday for another fun evening!

Printables for Max

There are a number of word graphics out there that I just love for a nursery. Jamie's wanting fun stuff for Max's walls, so I've put together this trio from the songs Grandma sings to him all the time :)

Max's baby quilt

Some things just take awhile - Jamie and I shopped when she was pregnant for fabric. Jamie and I cut the fabric out I can't remember when. Max is nine months old now, and finally I'm back to sewing. Had a very productive night with my friend Eryn and a couple other lovely ladies.
First, sewed the blocks in a string - it sure goes quickly!

blocks together, border is next

wall words

my next project - some vinyl cuts. I've done the top two lines for my friend Kim at Unwind Knit and Fibre Lounge and the bottom two for me. I love vinyl!

Adore

Love this photo of Jamie, my baby girl. The photo is one from her wedding last year, wish I could have seen her for myself! I made this page for a challenge to use many pictures on a page. I thought this photo was ideal to turn into a mosaic. The background paper and tags are from Creative Memories. Adore cut from my Home Decor cart.

A little creating finally

I feel like I've been spinning my wheels since the holidays - got a bit of my groove on this week finally.

Here is a page from just a FEW years ago! This is my dear friend Betty Anne with me. We  have known each other for 35 years. We've lost touch a few times over the years but always manage to reconnect. Now through the beauty of Facebook, we're in permanent contact again, YAY! In the summer of 1980 we went to visit my parents in Kelowna and enjoyed a week of partying and drinking and sunning on the beach. Good times, good times...

I also managed to get a card done for another challenge - i love the pearl centers on the flowers...

Creative Zone today...

Okay, I'm realizing I'm not using my space effectively and therefore, well, I'm just not using my space. I have to get it in order so I have the desire to be in there. I'd like to dedicate a couple of hours each morning to working in that room, and wow will I be on top of my crafts!
