I have had a passion for all things creative my entire life. I would not have completed my high school diploma if it weren't for extra credit in art. Thanks to my art teacher Miss Powell for making high school so much fun!
After high school I did a semester at Alberta College of Art, then got my diploma in Graphic Arts Administration. I worked at a print shop, followed by a printer's ink manufacturer, and then took time off to have my son. A year later, I wanted to work part-time so started working at HP. It was there I found my passion for event planning. I planned all company functions, from parties to customer events, training classes and my favourite - an annual three-day users group in the mountainside community of Banff, Alberta. This inspired me to get my Event Management Certificate.
My current passions, as the name of my blog indicates, are beads, paper and yarn. Beads in many forms; multi-strand necklaces, charm bracelets, wine charms, and more. Paper turns into cards, scrapbook pages and many gift items too - notebook holders, advent calendars, boxes and bags, and ideas not even discovered yet. Yarn... hats, scarves, wraps, and soon venturing into the world of SOCKS thanks to Kim at Unwind Knit and Fibre Lounge.
I am excited to be an artist member of the Irricana Artist's Co-op. We have a gallery and retail store that you can purchase my wares in, along with many other talented artists. Please come see us at the Grasshopper Gallery Thursdays - Sundays, and take in the many murals on the walls around town!
