Vinyl vinyl vinyl

Here are some shots of my most recent vinyl applications. I thought I'd have fun with my Jimmy as you can see! My son wanted the grenade - and when a buddy saw it he said, "that's badass, where'd you get it?" "My mom." Buddy's response, "Not so badass now." LOL!
My back window... watch out!

...and it wouldn't be mine without dragonflies!

creepy crawly canvas

One more post for Halloween today. I designed this subway art on my Gypsy using the Happy Hauntings Cricut cartridge. Original plan was to sell as a vinyl piece to put on a wall or window (which means removable but not reusable). Then I thought why not put on a canvas so it can be pulled out every Halloween! I layed the vinyl on a wrapped canvas and spritzed with two coats of Glimmer Mist. Once dried I pulled off some of the vinyl to let the white mask show through. Finally, a spray of Krylon to protect the finish.

I'll be making another of these I think - I really love the way it turned out! Canvases will be $20. Vinyl ready to be applied will sell for $10.

Thanks for looking!

Halloween Treats

Stampin' Up has started carrying these cool little skinny treat bags. I've put a few together so there's a little item for the kidlets available at the Grasshopper Gallery.
Fun part - filling the little tubes with candy. Skittles were amusing to sort into patterns, if a little bit tedious. The tootsie rolls were way easy - but I think most kids will pick the skittles :)

Punch a little circle and a larger circle, stamped with a pumpkin, make a jack-o-lantern face, and sandwich the top of the bag between them. Just for fun I got a bag of plastic rings - bats and witches and skulls, oh my!

Card making

I made a number of cards at last weekend's Retreat. Had fun playing with new techniques, and new goodies.

The collage and Bingo embossing folders were a set of Tim Holtz. My only beef is that they come in pairs instead of separately, because of course I wanted one out of two sets, so had to pick one!

Ahhhhh, Fall Retreat!

Three days, one lakeside cottage.

Add:
  • seven wonderful women
  • a whole lot of paper
  • a whole lot of stamps
  • a whole lot of ink
  • a whole lot of other scrapbooking supplies
  • and one laptop!
And here's what do you get:

Lots and lots of laughs, lots of munchies, good food, walks along the beach, and even a bit of productivity! Between us we finished a bunch of paper scrapbook pages, digital scrapbook pages, greeting cards, one paper Santa box, and even some Cub stuff (ponchos and scarves).

Organized by my favourite Stampin Up demonstrator, Sharon Hunter, we went to a lovely cottage on Sylvan Lake, only 1 1/2 hours from home. About 100 steps to the beach through the woods. All the leaves turning to gold.

I highly recommend Half Moon Bay Cottage. In fact, I would love to go back for another retreat, and I would also love to go there with my family. Check out their Facebook page for more photos of the cottage.

Thanks to my chauffeur Arlene for making the ride so much fun too, full of laughs. AND for making the wonderful Soul Sistas bags for us - you rock!
