Winter is around the corner

While I'm all about fall right now, still having my pumpkins decorating the house, I'm starting to think about winter. I've been playing with canvases, vinyl and Glimmer Mist. I created the Halloween canvas shown in an earlier post, and now I've done one for Winter and I'm loving it!

Give thanks...

I've wanted to make a Fall banner to go with my pumpkin collection for awhile. Last night I finally cut one out! My flags are 5.5" high - but I'd do them about 8" next time. Sorry for the lousy pics, but my camera battery is dead so it's from my cellphone which doesn't have a flash.

My friend Arlene showed me a link to these wonderful paper pumpkins, so I had to make a trio of them as well. Super-easy, super-fast. I just twisted paper and inked a bit for the stems, and curled the paper using the backside of a scissor blade. How cute are these?!

Vinyl vinyl vinyl

Here are some shots of my most recent vinyl applications. I thought I'd have fun with my Jimmy as you can see! My son wanted the grenade - and when a buddy saw it he said, "that's badass, where'd you get it?" "My mom." Buddy's response, "Not so badass now." LOL!
My back window... watch out!

...and it wouldn't be mine without dragonflies!

creepy crawly canvas

One more post for Halloween today. I designed this subway art on my Gypsy using the Happy Hauntings Cricut cartridge. Original plan was to sell as a vinyl piece to put on a wall or window (which means removable but not reusable). Then I thought why not put on a canvas so it can be pulled out every Halloween! I layed the vinyl on a wrapped canvas and spritzed with two coats of Glimmer Mist. Once dried I pulled off some of the vinyl to let the white mask show through. Finally, a spray of Krylon to protect the finish.

I'll be making another of these I think - I really love the way it turned out! Canvases will be $20. Vinyl ready to be applied will sell for $10.

Thanks for looking!

Halloween Treats

Stampin' Up has started carrying these cool little skinny treat bags. I've put a few together so there's a little item for the kidlets available at the Grasshopper Gallery.
Fun part - filling the little tubes with candy. Skittles were amusing to sort into patterns, if a little bit tedious. The tootsie rolls were way easy - but I think most kids will pick the skittles :)

Punch a little circle and a larger circle, stamped with a pumpkin, make a jack-o-lantern face, and sandwich the top of the bag between them. Just for fun I got a bag of plastic rings - bats and witches and skulls, oh my!
